Design Her Future, Equip Her Hands: Women Helping Women Celebrates Vocational Excellence in Edo State

In a significant step toward empowering women with practical skills and sustainable opportunities, Women Helping Women Foundation, in collaboration with the Edo State Government, hosted the “Design Her Future, Equip Her Hands: WHW Vocational Hub Graduation Ceremony.” This landmark event celebrated the successful training and graduation of women who have completed vocational programs designed to transform lives and promote economic independence.

The event which took place on February 20th, 2026, at the prestigious John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The event represents a milestone in the mission to equip women with skills that not only empower them personally but also strengthen communities and drive sustainable development.

A Vision for Women’s Empowerment

The theme of the event, “From Skills to Sustainability, Dreams Are Becoming a Reality,” reflects the core vision of the Women Helping Women initiative. Through its vocational hub, the organization has created a platform where women gain access to training in various practical and entrepreneurial skills that enable them to become self-reliant.

These programs were designed to go beyond theoretical knowledge. Participants were exposed to hands-on learning experiences that prepared them for real-world economic opportunities. The event was hosted by renowned humanitarian and advocate for women’s empowerment, Apostle Prof. Elizabeth Pedro, who serves as the Chief Host. Her leadership and commitment to empowering women have been instrumental in the development and success of the vocational hub initiative.

Also attending as the Father of the Day is Monday Okpebholo, the Governor of Edo State, whose administration continues to promote programs that support skills development, youth empowerment, and women’s economic participation.
