Welcome address by Her Excellency Prof. Elizabeth Pedro , to WHW Ghana.
Distinguished guests, esteemed international delegates, and dear women of Ghana,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to this momentous occasion here, in Ghana. Today marks not only the inauguration of the Women Helping Women for Sustainable Tomorrow (WHW) Ghana chapter but also the commencement of a transformative conference focused on women’s empowerment.
As we gather here, we recognize the immense potential that lies within each woman present and those represented by your attendance. This conference, with its emphasis on skill acquisition, embodies our commitment to equipping women with practical knowledge that can lead to economic independence and personal growth.
The workshops we have organized – covering body cream making, drink production, soap manufacturing, pastry creation, and beaded slipper crafting – are more than just training sessions. They are gateways to opportunity, seeds of entrepreneurship, and foundations for sustainable livelihoods.
By learning these skills, you are not just acquiring knowledge; you are embracing the power to shape your destinies and contribute meaningfully to your communities and our nation as a whole.
Each product you will learn to create represents a step towards self-reliance and a testament to the creativity and resourcefulness of Ghanaian women.
The inauguration of the WHW Ghana chapter is a significant milestone. It symbolizes our connection to a global network of women supporting women, sharing knowledge, and working together towards a brighter, more equitable future.
As we embark on this journey of empowerment, let us remember that the skills you gain here are tools for change. They have the power to transform lives, uplift families, and strengthen our society.
Your success will inspire other women, creating a ripple effect of positive change across Ghana and beyond.
I encourage each of you to approach these workshops with enthusiasm, to share your experiences with one another, and to envision how you can apply these skills to create a better tomorrow for yourselves and your communities.
Thank you for your presence and participation. May this conference be the beginning of new opportunities, lasting friendships, and a strengthened resolve to support one another in our shared journey towards empowerment and prosperity.
I hereby declare this conference and the WHW Ghana chapter officially open. May your time here be fruitful, inspiring, and transformative.
Thank you, and God bless you all.
